Dental SEO
July 25, 2008 | SEO, internet marketing
Dental SEO is a new service we are offering which will be aimed at the dental and dental services market. The Dental market is hotting up. More and more practices are turning from NHS to private and the average patient has far more choice of where to go. As with most markets, the first point of research is online, and this is where most dental practices fail and why we have our Dental SEO service.
Working closely with the practice, we will undertake all SEO activities and reporting, not only making sure that the rankings are good, but also monitoring the return on investment.

I was speaking at a meeting last week for a group of people who were at the top of their game and industry. Their business was aimed at the consumer, probably locally based and the market is hot.
The first revelation of the meeting was showing them Google analytics! Most of the people in the room had not seen it before and put it this way, there were Ferraris in the car park so these people were not stupid!
Online, things need testing, and that’s half the benefit of the internet. Sites can be tracked and changed and tweaked and measured all the time. One of the most important factors is creating some key performance indicators to set as a base line, and then try to beat them.
I would suggest an initial set of KPI’s are; Number of visitors to the site per month, and number of enquiries from the site.
Armed with this info, which can all be tracked through Google analytics, the tweaking and testing can start.
What’s the point of blogging?

At Web Marketing Advisor, we try to blog every day. On the whole we do so well, but on some of those days, you can’t help but think why do I bother? I’m tired and I have a to-do list which would make any Everest expedition party go green in the face.
I think it’s some sort of karma revenge for the work we ask our clients to do!
So here are some of the reasons why we write our blog
1. Google loves fresh content, and blogging every day gives that.
2. There are only so many keywords you can stuff into main website without it looking to contrived. Your blog is a great place to focus on more keywords, infact, each article can be optimised for its own set.
3. You can really hit the long tail of keywords, the ones which are 3-4 words long, driving small but targeted traffic.
4. It gives you a voice.
5. It helps you to create a community around your business.
Each one of the above posts could be expanded and developed into its own book, never mind blog post, but we must start at the beginning, and the first step is your first post!
Good Luck
Massive Companies in getting Internet Marketing very wrong shocker
June 18, 2008 | internet marketing
I was reading through some posts earlier that we’ve done in the last month or so and I was reading Guy’s post about Link Building Insanity and how some companies spend time trying to build links but do it in such an awful way that, lets be honest, they probably shouldn’t have bothered in the first place!
A search in Google for “click here” makes interesting reading, you have a list of some of the the biggest companies on the planet, some web only sites such as Multimap who you’d think would know better and more suprisingly some of the biggest web related companies you could imagine including Google themselves. It should be noted that partly results are due to people who decide they want to link to a certain site and think the best form of link is click here. However, if you take one other company who make the “dumb” list, Microsoft. I can’t remember how much money they spent launching Vista but I remember it will probably buy you a small island somewhere nice where you can retire to for the rest of your life. Common Sense tells me that in relation to employing someone somewhere to contact people who do this and ask them to change their anchor text that it’s peanuts compared to how much these companies spend on Advertising and Marketing. Here’s the list of some of the top ten, starting at the top are:
Adobe
Multimap
Apple
Microsft
Sun’s Java site
Then if we break into the remaing top 30 we have:
RealPlayer
PayPal
Winzip
US Governement
Wikipedia
Google Earth
CNN
Disney
Netscape
UPS
